Sade
The slow start · 2000 · from Lovers Rock

Aṣa
Windows open · 2007 · from Aṣa
The opening track of her debut, produced by Cobhams Asuquo. It sounds soft, but Aṣa wrote it with Nigeria’s years of dictatorship in mind. Let go of whatever is holding you.

The Cameroonian singer wrote it from her own mental health journey, and it went all the way to No. 2 in the UK. Take it as your cue to check in on yourself, and on your people.
