Bridget Blue’s RNB is in the Grammy conversation
The Kenyan singer's album has been entered for consideration in Best Progressive R&B Album at the 2027 Grammys. It isn't a nomination yet, and she's the first to say so.

Kenyan R&B is knocking on the Grammys' door. Bridget Blue announced on Friday 16 October that her album Rhythm and Blue, better known as RNB, is under consideration for Best Progressive R&B Album at the 69th Grammy Awards, the 2027 edition.
What it meansConsidered, not nominated (yet)
Being “under consideration” means the album has been entered and is eligible to be voted on in that category. It's an early stage, not a nomination, and Bridget was careful to say exactly that. “Now, it doesn't mean we've been nominated yet, but this is such a huge and beautiful special step,” she said.
She also asked fans to keep sharing the music: “You never know how far your like or your share can take us.”
The albumTwelve tracks, her way
RNB came out on 31 March 2026 with 12 tracks. “We released 12 tracks into the world and the reception was absolutely amazing,” she said. It is the most personal record of her eight years in music, and it has quietly become one of the Kenyan albums of the year.
If you only know her from “I Choose You” with Bien, which made our Sunday Reset playlist, start there and then play the album through.
